>>1224596I have thought about this a lot, although from the opposite direction. I often wonder if I got stuck in the woods for long periods of time while backpacking whether i was well equipped or not. Since I do most of my backpacking alone in remote locations, I strive to take enough gear to last all summer/winter as a safety precaution. Since I am a minimalist, the pack still weighs only about 10 pounds w/out seasonal clothes and food/water/fuel.
I am confident that I can last at least a month in the woods anytime I go backpacking, with the only limiting factor being food and electrolytes. If i need to to go longer, I just need to bring more food.
