What would be your ideal home if you had the land and the means to construct one depending on region, cost, maintenance, and needs?

Personally i'd love the idea of a hobbit hole, but i would be worried about the weight of the soil during a heavy rain. Ideally I would go for a log cabin but with a daubed and limewashed exterior and/or interior.
