Asking honestly; you have to remember that whether it's batteries in a flashlight or fuel in a lantern, you have to have some form of energy. That energy has weight. Ignoring the UL memes, you don't want to be lugging around an extra pound in gear that you don't have to. If you don't want an LED lantern or a regular flashlight, that's fine; I'm just saying that you are going to be filling your bag with a refill if you plan on falling asleep with it on in a two day trip.
Again, if you find that the lantern to be valuable enough to warrant bringing/buying it on your trip... do so.
