Knifes (Mora + large bowie or short machete, both of which have a whetstone on the sheath), Sawyer mini, box of matches (one would be enough, but more can't hurt), filled canteen, as much iron ration as I can fit.
Or in other words: only food in the backpack and my regular loadout on my belt and in my pockets. With that I can survive for an indeterminate time as long as there's game and some edible plants and trees around.
For cold climates I'd add a sleeping bag (No clue which one, since the only one I own probably has more than 15L), for desert or steppe climates more water.
