This is a tree that was Feld during a logging operation to the Sampit area over a hundred years ago... There was so much Cypress that this was considered what they called The Ugly cut that would not fit on the train car... Hoping to get consent from the property owner to make some tables out of this piece.

I found lots of Indian and slave artifacts in the swamps off the gulf coast... lots of awesome swamp cedar too, it’s kinda like driftwood but semi petrified. I miss the swamps I love in the appalachians now.

Slave artifacts I'm not certain of but definitely lots of pottery where I go to. Locate a lot of Sinker Cypress as well the old red bald stuff.... Found these items recently in a swamp local to my area of Northeast South Carolina... How about that old ice pick LOL

Since we don't have alligators here, just snappers, the only thing is fear is getting stuck in mud underwater. I've waded in muddy rivers and it's no fun getting stuck. Can't imagine getting stuck head deep

Damn, I was going by memory that was 20 years old bro of that place... Some of the best white shrimp you can get on the South Carolina coast will be found in Bulls Bay when they are a 18 to 24 count elsewhere you could get sometimes 10 shrimp to make a pound in those Waters.

Understood....... Used to feel the same way until you realize those people that had things to hide went places to hide them that no one else wanted to go. As well on another note you have to have a lifetime or a good knowledge whichever comes first of how to navigate areas like that... But most importantly a love for it which is why I shared my YouTube channel for those that cannot go where I do.

Yeah I was in an area where slaves built a railroad and I found lots of voodoo shit where there slave huts used to be and some Blair Witch looking shit hanging off of trees way the fuck back in a swamp on a fed game reserve

I love swamps. I'm just fascinated by them. We don't really have any swamps on our land but we do have some mucky spots that are basically just vernal pools that stay wet through June or so, and I would always love exploring them and hopping the rocks and mounds and finding frogs and snakes and getting my feet all muddy. I even made stilts out of an old pair of crutches one summer so I could walk around in the swamp with them. They're just magical and so teeming with life and death and I'm really drawn to them.
