I'm a big fan of St. Croix. I got mine as they were phasing out a model (I forget which) so I got my 4 piece, 4 weight for pretty cheap straight from them.
Temple Fork Outfitter rods are also very nice.

What kind of fishing are you planning to do? Large rivers, lakes, saltwater, creeks and streams?

If that's your range, i'd recommend either an orvis clearwater or temple forks outfitter rod. i got a TFO 5wt for $220 and it is pretty great, they have a lifetime no fault warranty, so youre getting a pretty damn good rod and the warranty for a reasonable price as far as decent fly rods go.

where you fishin? just curious trying to find more guys in the nj, ny and eastern pa area

I fish in Mexico (where I'm living now) Sometimes streams and still water for trout give no more than a few catches with tiny nymph going really deep. Also kayak fishing for bass (more places). Also fished in Campeche for Baby Tarpon and in Argentina for golden dorado (Salminus Maxillosus).

Hi OP. Try at redington and look for outfits. Actually SAGE and Redington are the same. I just bought a Redington Voyant #7 10ft for bass fishing and it feels really good. I do also own a St. Croix Triumph #9, a Scott #5 and a Elkhorn #3

im guessing the only trout fishing in mexico has to be in the more mountainous parts right? anywhere else would be too hot i'd think. just wondering bc even where i live in northern nj, there are a lot of rivers that cant hold trout bc the summer gets too hot, and i imagine mexico gets that 10x
