I looked at walmart and dicks sporting goods but that seemed like cheap shit.

not him but but 550lb is the standard i look for. i don't repel (or parachute) with it and thankfully ive never had to use it to save myself or a peer, but it seems to be the bottom of the top. if you are really nervous about it there is "milspec type iv" but if you needed that you wouldn't be asking for it.

Paracord isn't appropriate for load bearing applications, it's only for rigging tarps and lashing sticks together. The chink junk is fine for that.

Because paracord is only good for non load bearing applications (unless you're actually rigging a parachute) so there's no reason to waste money on the memespec stuff.
