ITT: No epeen measuring contests of how hardcore your outdoor activities are. This thread is for the noobs, the easygoers, the dayhikers and the RVers.
I realized something recently. I don't even like the camping part of camping. I just like going on hikes, being outside all day and then coming back to a nice bug-free bed at night. Fires are pretty nice, but being outside once it gets dark gets old fast. I enjoy van camping much more because I never have to deal with setting up my shelter in the rain and mud or getting a root in my back. Instant perfect dry shelter with a soft bed (and sometimes laptop+internet) innawoods is hard to beat. It doesn't matter to me that I can't get as far out in the woods at night as they can with their 5 pound packs and ultra survival skills.
What /out/ activities that are not that hardcore but you still enjoy a lot are there?
