>>1241088Not him but in Syds winter will get just about down to freezing a few times overnight. Generally the lowest overnight temp is like 3º-7º (depending on the month). It gets a bit colder the further inland you go and once or twice a year they might even have a dusting of snow that lasts until late morning.
However, even though it doesn't get down to bitter cold, winter's fairly miserable because the place isn't made for cold weather. Meaning, buildings and houses aren't insulated, they tend to be very drafty, and there's rarely a heater. So it might be just a bit raw and chilly outside, but when you get home after a long day and sit at your desk to shitpost or study or whatever, it's just as fucking cold inside as outside, and there's no heat you can turn on and if you use a portable heater it costs a fortune because there isn't adequate insulation. Going to to the cafe? It'll be cold in there. Going to the pub? Cold. Theatre? Cold. bank? Cold. Nothing like taking a shower every morning in a 10º tile bathroom. It's not like being in Norway when you burst into a warm house at the end of the day with a comfy woodfire going and you can strip down to your jammies and bare feet and be cozy, at all. Also, some winters it rains constantly. Add that to the mix ad it's miserable. I have Irish friends who came over and their first winter here it rained all the time and they legit said it was the most chilling and miserable weather they'd lived with, and they came for Arrland. It's hard to explain but winter can be a lot shittier than people think because of that.
