Hi, I'm kinda new to /out/. I went to Redwood National Park this past Saturday and hiked through some trails in Prairie Creek with a few classmates and a alumni who knows the area any well. This was a rare chance for me as I'm autistic and have no friends, any tips for hiking alone?

Here's another way of thinking about it, OP: walking in the woods is an easy way of interacting with other people without a huge expectation of talking. Maybe you could become friends with these classmates!

This is pretty crazy, but I also went to Prairie Creek last Saturday; the weather was so nice! Was going to head up to Fern Canyon on Saturday since its supposed to be nice.

Hiking alone is great, and can be really relaxing. I pretty much look at every single plant, feel the leaves, smell "flowers", check out little mushrooms. Finding a spot and pulling out a book is awesome.
