Looking for a new jacket and pants.
Thought you guys had some suggestions.

What kind of jacket?

For pants I'd point you toward the prana stretch zions or zioneers. They're comfy, durable, and they look good.

I'm wearing a pair right now.

They're not waterproof but they dry out so fucking fast and they're insanely comfortable and breathable.

The 5.11 pants are pretty good. They're durable, comfortable, and they have plenty of pockets. That being said, they're a poly-cotton blend so they don't dry as quickly or stretch as much as the nylon pants (think Prana) do.

My favorite /out/ pants are the Fjallraven Vidda Pro pants but those are so ridiculously overpriced that it's hard to recommend them without feeling like I'm jewing someone.

Regarding jackets, nobody here can give you a good recommendation unless you specify what type of jacket you're looking for or what you plan on using it for.

Just jumping into the thread to say that DTC has decent clothes but their mark up is like 200% and the owner is a piece of shit.

I'm literally wearing one of their belts and Buck Nakeds right now though, I only bought it when I got an employee discount (at cost) because the guy is such an asshole.

I tried a pair Kuhl nylon pants for working/camping outdoors. I really appreciated the gusseted crotch and the weird vent things behind the knee for hotter days.

But nylon is expensive as fuck and you should avoid burning anything larger than a zip stove around them, so mixed bag in my book.

Anyways, as others have said, give more info. Cold weather, wear wool layers (or fleece if active) and any material that breaks wind (or waterproof if you need it.)

Hot weather, wear whatever you want. I usually go topless and wear swim trunksor nylon running shorts. Maybe some very light baselayers if the sun is getting to me. If going through brush, I'll put on my shell layers and vent them when I get the chance. A jacket is pretty useless in the summer in my opinion, unless it's a rain jacket.

Go for Lundhags pants. They are quite expensive but worth it. Similar to Fjallraven but you dont pay for the hipster hype but for actual quality

Nice moving the goalposts there. No, decathlon is not the same quality as arc'teryx (or fjällräven for that matter, though their quality can be shifty.) Yeah, most people don't do the kind of activities where they die from the difference. But they might get rather annoyed when their stuff breaks sooner than necessary, doesn't fit as well or doesn't have the same features.
