I'm talking 100+ miles away from any roads/towns/stations. The kind of place where, if you fall and break your leg, you die (signaling devices and companions aside). The kind of place you can shout as loud as you want and no other human will hear you.

Places like Siberia or the Yukon, where you can say to yourself "I am probably the only human being who has ever noticed this tree."

What does it mean for a person to be so geographically removed from society? Is it Hell or Nirvana? How dangerous is it? How do you get there?
