>>1254101>Hammock or tentIMO tent's better and more versatile. While a hammock is comfy and better in its niche, they don't work without trees, so if you want to camp above the treeline you're hooped.
If you're a beginner I suggest buying a cheap 2 man tent, it's simpler, more versatile, and in my humble opinion, more comfy.
>What kinda food can I bring Most things work. Dehydrated/just add water foods like pasta, rice, hamburger helper etc are very nice because they're light to bring in, but if you don't have a lot for fuel for your stove or there's a fireban in place where you're going it will be hard to simmer.
Personally, I like to bring some good bread, cheese, mustard and quality sausage like salami for lunches, and I like to have rice/pasta for dinner so I usually bring hamburger helper. But if you're only going for a day you might wanna bring some eggs for a good breakfast in the morning too
>I don't wanna get raped by a bearLearn bear safety. Go Google is right now. Bears shouldn't be a problem as long as you remember what not to do.
Remember, never cook or store food within 100ft of your campsite.
