But op a hammock if you go where there will be trees would be Best. Chair and bed!

This seems like something for a flat terrain that is a hot place. Where you don't need a tent. .. Would be nice to take to a lake if your fishing and lay on it.

Theres a lot of campgrounds out there that wont let you lash against to trees within the park so not to damage them. Also, not every climate has trees suitable for a hammock.

I do like them but the're far too bulky compared to a thermarest or relatively hammock which will give you the same if not a better sleep.

That's not long enough for a raised mattress if you are the average male height of 5'11", like me. Either my pillow will constantly be falling off or my feet will be hanging off. I'm fine working with an inflatable mat that's shorter than my body length, but it just isn't comfortable to sleep on a cot that's too short.

Plus, cots are needless weight in general. Just learn to smooth out your tent site and sleep on an inflatable mat.

Depends on the tree. It doesn’t take much to girdle a tree with soft bark if you’re using thin cord instead of straps.

even small use will accumulate over time. like with a grass paths over time the grass will disappear. even when a single persons walking makes basically no change. the rope might only scratch the bark but it might be a entry point for disease.

I take it with me on winter trips in addition to a thicccc sleeping pad. It is extremely cold where I camp so it isn't so much weight when I already have to take a -35 degree bag, pad, and a tarp with me. For summer tho, way too heavy.
