>>1262412I'm not a full fledged archaeologist yet, but I've been on plenty of digs. There's a lot of paperwork, but it's really nice to be able to spend the day working outside. There's a lot of drinking culture in archaeology so after a hard day's work most people like to grab beers which is comfy. Most anthropologists are really weird but good people.
If you search around, you can probably find volunteer opportunities near you. Try it out. Volunteers don't normally have to do the paperwork and lame stuff, you mostly just dig. The only downside is that digs where you camp at the site aren't that common.
