I did cub scouts when I was a wee lad, learned to make a fire, went on small campouts, roasted hotdogs, drank absurd amounts of coolaid, good times. Never really went in for the jungle book naming thing even as a kid but my group was all about it.
Skipped scouts because I moved but did venturers, it was okay but it felt like all the scouting stuff just got in the way of doing shit. No one wanted to do any of the secretary or treasurer etc jobs and the leader was really into all that preparing you for life stuff instead of just doing cool shit. Can't blame him really, he was really dedicated and volunteered a lot of time and money, but all I wanted to do was go do cool shit. We did do some cool shit though.
