Churchill looks like a dump. It's in the Hudson Bay Lowlands so it's all flat tundra, and gangs of polar bears roam the streets so you have to stay inside.

The only land connection between Churchill and civilization is a single privately owned rail line that got destroyed in a flood a couple years back that they don't want to fix, so everything has to be flown in and is expensive as fuck as consequence. Then of course they are drunk natives everywhere, and when it is actually warm enough to go outside there are mosquitoes and flies everywhere. I assume everyone there is either a Native American living on reserve bucks, living off of polar bear tourism or employed by the government. Probably the complete opposite of comfy.

There is plenty of empty space in the other provinces

I grew up and currently live in Saskatchewan. I had a couple years hiatus but I am back here while my wife finishes school.

This place is a shithole. Boring as fuck topography, extreme weather changes (-40 to +40), dry as your mother's vagina and the wind blows harder than she does. Every lake south of Prince Albert is a green swamp. All of the campgrounds - municipal, provincial and federal - are pretty poor, and mostly used by retirees in campers or loud hillbillies with trucks and beer. The trail systems are limited, and frankly so is public use land (again, unless you go far north).

The only good option available for outing in Saskatchewan is a canoe voyage through the northern lakes, fishing as you go. Assuming you like to canoe and fish.

I can't wait to get the fuck out of here for good and never come back. 14 more months.

Northern BC resident, it's amazing here. So many places to explore with no one to bother you.
Lots of different terrains too. I live in the coast mountains on an island, and a three hour drive on the highway here takes me through rainforest, alpine tundra, then boreal woodland.
Lots of rivers, lakes and mountains inbetween. Get all four seasons here, but if I ever want to get away from snow I just gotta stick to the coast. And If you want sunshine you just drive for two hours out.

Worked in NWT for the last year. Place is a shithole. Bugs are unreal. Cold is unreal. Prices of shit are unreal outside Yellowknife. I guess it'd be ok for hunting/fishing, but not much else. The north runs on gub'ment subsidies and is full of injuns. They basically drink, fuck up and break shit. Classy place. 0/10 would not recommend.
