First time poster here just seeking out a bit of info from the more experienced.

I live in a somewhat rural part of Colorado, at the base of the rockies near Rye. My mother just read my father an article, which I overheard, about a pair of breeding mountain lions in the area, and Im actually worried.

Dont get me wrong, I love nature, love being outside and exploring. But anything that can run 40MPH to take down and kill a 250lb Mule Deer in less than 10 seconds terrifies me. My home is in a wooded area with some open plains, and alot of deer, which actually eat the fruit off the trees my dad has planted at night, making me think the lions would be closer to my home.

Just wondering if I should actually be worried about this. Ive read online that there have only been about 10 attacks in this area in the last 20 years, 4 being fatal. I personally dont think Ill be walking around outside without a Kabar or something on me.
