Guerillapods are pretty good but I saved some money by buying a Fotopro™ UFO 2 and I have to say it's at least as good if not better. It doesn't have joints and it's nice grippy rubber. I assume it's just a thick wire core that might wear out over time but so far it's amazing. It holds my heavyass Pentacks DSLR with no problems but it's also great for holding my mics/recorder/etc for field recording. You just wrap it around a branch or bend it to sit sturdy on rocks and other unlevel surfaces

Just bought a Sony a6000.

Complete armature but having fun so far. Trying to shoot in mechanical mode or whatever where you manually adjust all the settings as you shoot ? Results have varied.

Any useful info or YouTube recs that aren't feminist soiboi hipsters taking super bokeh city portraits?

I don't have any great resources on hand for you but yes, manual mode is a very good way to learn and get a good sense of the exposure triangle.

Also that's a nice camera and you can really get a lot out of it with careful exposure settings. If you have decent developing software you can get even more out of it as well.

With youtube it can get bit fishy, not every good photographer is a good youtuber and vice versa. I'd suggest finding photographers you like and following them on IG, youtube etc. Try to replicate their style, keep techniques you like and ditch what you don't like until you develop your own style. Lot's of photographers also have their behind the scenes blogs with postprocess, shooting tips etc.

Bought an a6500 a few months ago myself. Still learning how to use it. So far YouTube has been a pretty good resource. I’ve just been typing in “Sony a6***” and then scrolling through and looking for something informative. Be careful though. As you said a lot of those you tubers are disgusting cucks

It’s a good way to start, especially when you get your first autofocus DSLR and revel in the confines. And you can usually find a place that develops onto cds for 5-8 a pop
