We've had this thread a million times. If you want a tl;dr summary of all of them, Casio is the brand to look at.
If you don't give a flying fuck about aesthetics, then get one of the classic terrorist watch models. Digital display, pretty precise timekeeping, fully waterproof, can go through seven circles of hell and back and come out without a scratch, battery life of 3-7 years, and all that for literally 10 or 20 dollars. Downsides are that they're ugly as shit and rather uncomfortable, but for 10 bucks it's difficult to argue with.
If you do care about aesthetics/comfort and are willing to pay a bit more in return, get one of the cheap, budget G-Shocks. They're basically the terrorist watches but much more aesthetic and a bit more comfortable, Casio claims they're also more durable but that's kind of a moot point because a terrorist watch is already durable well beyond anything you'll throw at it. Be sure to get one with an Auto-Light feature, that shit is invaluable after sunset.
There's really no reason to pay for anything with a higher price tag than the budget G-Shocks, they're just the same watches but with useless gimmicks or a slightly different aesthetic.
While other brands have /out/-oriented lines, they're usually just overpriced shit that doesn't really have any advantage over a cheaper-model G-Shock. Obviously there are a few hidden gems but you have to sort through mountains of shit to find them.
For fuck's sake stay the fuck away from "Mountaineering watches" with things like altimeters and barometers. Yea they're nifty features, but if you have that much money to throw out the drain, you might as well just buy a pair of Swarovski binoculars instead and get infinitely more enjoyable an experience.
