Since you guys are my friends I'll share my super secret /out/ foods.
>breakfast
As soon as I am up I start boiling water. Hot cocoa mix gets me awake - I add brotein powder and Nido. Nido is popular in hispanic places, it is loaded with nutrients that are hard to get when ultra light. I also make myself some powdered eggs. The best thing to make is oatmeal. Add some Nido to it to give it to cream it up a bit.
Breakfast takes 10 min, boil water, use some to make brotein cocoa, use the rest to make eggs and/or oatmeal, hit the trail.
>lunch
GORP, granola, jerky. If I want to sit for a meal a tortilla sandwich works great. Cured meats are good for this, as are cheese packets.
>Dinner
Pick one of three: quinoa, ramen, pasta
Add some chives, bouillon, garlic salt, etc. Go crazy with seasoning - it's light and can turn a mundane dinner into a good one.
I also keep a line in the water when I get to camp to hopefully catch a fish. Cured meats are good here too. On the first night eggs and cheeses are ok as well - though they are a little heavy for me. A small vial of olive oil will give you some extra calories as well as make your pasta taste better.
Moral boosters are important. I usually through 2-3 milky way bars in my bag.
