>>1278674Soft plastic worms, craws: something green (green pumpkin, watermelon, either of those two with flakes, sprayed grass, etc.) and something dark (black with or without flake, junebug, etc.).
Soft plastic grubs, flukes: White and green pumpkin.
Spinnerbaits, buzzbaits, chatterbaits, swim jigs: Something primarily white, maybe something green or black.
Jerkbaits and topwater: Something primarily white, something primarily clear.
Crankbaits: White, clear, chartreuse, silver, red, orange, brown, green. A lot of variance here. If I had to limit it to two, I would opt for silver and brown for waters near me.
Jigs: Something green and something black.
Frogs: Literally doesn’t matter as long as it looks natural
That’s about it. If you’re imitating a bluegill, go with green. If you’re imitating a crayfish, go with green, brown, or black. If you’re imitating baitfish, go with silver, white, or clear. Of course, with all things fishing, nothing is exact. Sometimes a bright pink worm will catch em, sometimes a bright chartreuse crankbait will work. That’s up to you, but I really only buy up to three, maybe four colors maximum for a specific lure. You gotta know what works in your waters.
