What does /out/ do about the bugs from hell?

Howdy, just started bushwhacking, going off trail, and just realized mosquitoes are bugging me, so how should I deal with them? Classic pesticides or something more natural?

Embrace the suck.

A spray bottle with essential oils every couple hours is easy and works for me. Also campfires.

Bug spray doesn’t work. Only way is to embrace it. DEET always stops working 5 minutes after u put it on.

actually peer reviewed studies (not the anecdotes of local yokels) are pretty consistent in finding effective protection of a single DEET application is around 300 minutes
