So I've moved to Sweden and want to get in to the great Swedish outdoors. Been a city slicker all my life up until now.
I was thinking of doing my first overnight in one of the wind shelters like your pic. Would you recommend this for a first timer like me?

Thanks for the advice and taking the time to reply, especially on the sleeping bag and bug spray. Maybe I'll get a mosquito net since they can be fairly cheap.
I thought staying in a shelter a couple of times will be better than dropping money on a tent I use a couple of times. If I keep at it I can spend the money on a shelter of my own in the future.

mosquito nets tend to not work with shelters due to the slant of the ceiling, if its literally your first times going camping i would recommend a cheap tent from something like Naturkompaniet or even Jaktia.
shelters are generally best outside of bug season in my opinion

Never been to Sweden, but it might be a good idea to have any food that needs to be cold on the first day and sandwiches on the second. Makes it fine when your ice melts.

Camped with 4 friends on some old hippie's 60-acre woodland that we found on hipcamp
He was cool af, been building tiny homes with compost toilets and solar panels for over 30 years. Would have totally hung out with him, but he just made the trek over to our camp yesterday morning to say hello and give advice on mushroom picking.
We were pretty close to a local bouldering spot so those of us that are climbers (3 out of the 5) hit that up while the other two went on a hike.
Found a nice clear lake to jump into after a 6-mile hike on Saturday, when it was 90 degrees and 70% humidity

I wanted to go all weekend long, but could only go on Monday, also took too long with stuff I had to do in the morning so I basically had two hours to spend there and couldn't fuck off up a normie free trail.
I was hopeful that everyone would have left by then, but I was wrong. There was thousands of people.

I left my house at 1AM, got to the campsite and set up by 230AM
Stayed there until 8AM
Packed up, went home
It was okay. I didnt sleep at all. It would have been way too hot/humid anyway.
I did like walking through the woods at night though
