You need to hit the spine, located behind the eye and below the ear.

You want a rifle. The choice depends on what power is legal in your country.
Caliber does not matter that much.

I bought a ruger airhawk last year to genocide the rabbits in my garden and back yard. Its a 177 cal break barrel spring gun. Reading online there are tons of people who say to limit shots to 30 yards, but I regularly pick them off at up to 65 yards no problem.

Actually it's probably better to kill the cats then the rabbits outdoor and feral cats cause immeasurable damage to local ecosystem and are responsible for the dcline and extinction of alto of small mammals and birds populations

If you have money and can spend around 300$ the best air rifle fir small game is the RWS 34. But buy a new scope for it since the one that comes with it is not accurate. Or just shoot without scope

Pistol will be shit. Not very accurate and overall just shit unless you buy a stupid expensive one. For rifles you’ll want a legit hunting air rifle. A cheap daisy B.B. gun won’t do shit. Figure out what pellet shape will be suit your needs.

I'd just use a shotgun, myself. But that's just 'cause rabbits are often out in pairs and it's easier to shoot a running rabbit with birdshot than it is with a rifle.

Get a crosman 2240. You can get a barebones one for $60, plus CO2 and pellets would be $80. Alternatively you could get a pimped out one one the crosman custom site or buy a second hand one with some work done.

Nothing beat a good slingshot with those little glass balls.
Practice on some beer cans for a week and you'll be nailing squirrels and rabbits from 10-15 yards

Crosman American Classic in .177 cal. My first airgun and it has served me faithfully since then. Splurge on the steel breech kit and you can slap a scope on it, but I've had better luck with the iron sights in all honesty

RWS 54 it’s one of the best ones out there. It’s a little heavy at 10 pounds but it shoots .22 pretty fast and very accurate. I’ve killed countless starlings at 50 yards with it no problem.
