2.living self sustainably takes years to set up. So don't quit your job until you're set up
3.Pick easy to grow crops that don't require a lot of effort and if you have a glut you can sell them, and they keep for a long time
>heritage high yield potatoes>spinach(cook it and freeze it), sell it fresh.>Corn>cheap and easy kale/lettuce heads that you can sell really quickly4.Any livestock you have you want to be able to either grow their food or buy it very cheap
Eg.
>Chickens. They will eat compost and the bugs and organisms in compost. You can feed them corn, sunflower seeds and comfrey. They are easy and give you eggs and meat5.Water, you need rainwater storage off your roof or ground/spring water. This is something you need to research before you buy property.
6. Look into a permaculture orchard. They provide more food for you and your chickens/pigs/goats and you can easily sell fruit. And they aren't too hard to maintain
7.find other sources of income.
Eg. I built a coffee and toasted sandwich van that I drive to a train station at 5am every weekday and sell coffee and sandwiches. And I work in cash so I pay barely any tax.
The hard work is creating all of this. Once it's set up and you know what to do its really not that hard. I work probably 6 hours a day in total.
