ITT: Post your boots, ask questions, give recommendations etc

I took these Keen Gypsum II's through Southern Africa in January. Could not recommend more. Great for hiking and the only issue I noticed was that the sole is a bit thinner than I'd like.

Is there a boot that comes anywhere near the comfort of running shoes? I have yet to find one.

this is, of course, entirely dependent on your feet and what you're doing. both altra and hoka make light hikers based off their trail runners. I've tried the Altra Lone Peak boots. They're about as comfortable as the Lone Peak trail runners, but I don't know that they add a lot of value over trail runners + gaiters.

Depending on what you mean and what you're looking for, you might also consider getting boots custom made, but shit ain't cheap: http://leahycustomhikingboots.com/

Danner Vicious all day every day. They are durable and comfortable enough to wear walking around town or whatever. Can easily run in them but are tough enough for serious work.

Closest I got is with my current Lowa Zephyrs. I can generally recommend these if you are looking for lightweight hypercomfy boots.

I've only hiked in work boots before I got these last year. They are VERY comfortable. Feels like a running shoe with a high ankle. Not too heavy either. Waterproofing is pretty good and so is the ventilation. One foot slipped into a creek way past the top of the boot and my feet were dry shortly afterwards.

Only problem I'm having is the tread is starting to seperate from the cushion on the heel a bit. Might remedy this myself with some glue and hopefully it will hold up.

Probably not the right place cause it isnt just /shoes/ but help me please. Need to walk 10 miles a day for 10 days mostly along country roads with a 20kg rucksack. What would you recommend?

If you're not used to hiking with weight on your back I would recommend something with a bit of angle support, like a light mid-height boot of a decent outdoor brand and looking somthing like these pics >>1285341 >>1286279 >>1284924
If you have strong angles or are used to hiking you could maybe do with just shoe-height.

Weather or not to have a gore-tex membrane in them depends on how much rain you expect.

A boot of some synthetic outer material will serve you well as a good entry boot. Leather will often be heavier but more durable.
