>moving on<I have another noob question:
I went fishing yesterday on a sizable stocked pond (small lake? about 80 acres; the place calls it a lake). When I went to the shore from the parking area, I saw a shitton of sunfish and spotted bass near the shore, milling about (too close in size, I guess, for the bass to have gone after the bluegills).
I got skunked. Not even a nibble. I typically at least get something on a worm, but not this time. I also tried every lure I have in my box, with no results on anything.
There was someone on a boat fishing the grass on the opposite bank. They mostly caught nothing, until the place was about to close, and the kid reeled in one fish (I'd guess a bass, but from so far I cannot be certain.
In the mean time, there were several blowups in the middle of the water, and I mean absolutely violent frenzies on whatever happened to be there at the time. Once, it was because a duck was leading her brood across the water. Otherwise, I'm not certain.
It was too far out to case, and I lack topwater lures. So I guess I'll start with that: topwaters.
But being summer, I'm told I have to fish cover, such as docks and grass, mostly with jigs and soft plastics.
How should I better approach this place?
