Any city 1 1/2 hours in any direction away from Denver is a better choice if you like things like color, fresh air, and trees. The goddamned smog cloud is a yellow blanket over that place that you can see when you start ascending off the plateau. If you have a problem with Spanish people and Californians on the reefer then Colorado Springs will be less painful.
I've been to every state that borders Utah but never in the state. If you're a Californian trying to escape then you're aiming yourself at the state's informal colonies.
