I'm getting some chicken soon, if y'all got any tips please give them. What extra items should I get them so they can be happy?

It's ideal if you give them a fenced in enclosure directly connected to the coop, make sure there is a coop door leading to this enclosure that can be closed at night to keep predators out that may get through the fence. My hens appreciate having roosting space across from their nesting boxes (at a height of maybe 4 feet), this is where they will sleep and hang out at night. Make sure all of them get into the coop before nightfall, if they aren't anywhere to be seen then some sort of predator probably took them away

I am also going to be getting chickens in the future and would appreciate a larger version of OP's graph. Got 92 acres in Northern Michigan. Going to spend the next two years occasionally taking trips up there to get it ready and then hopefully move up there for good and live off the land. Farming and animal husbandry here i come.

Predator traps. Set out live traps with plans to relocate at least 10 miles away, or invest in a good .22 or AR-15. Otherwise, you're only feeding the coyotes, foxes, and raccoons.

Even doing all of the above, in FL, I started with 65 chickens 2 years ago. Even with a few successful hatchings, I now have 18. All despite killing off over 20 raccoons, 2 coyotes, and 4 foxes.

Where do people even find milk crates anymore? It’s like how empty film canisters used to be everywhere and used for everything but don’t seem to have an equivalent anymore.

Law enforcement started cracking down on that. The crates are owned by the store or the milk company. Only those from companies that have gone out of business are allowed to be owned by people. Unless of course you buy your own milk crates. It is the same with shopping carts.
