it's a young myth and pretty uninteresting
the old myths of your respective regions are something you should look into, although I dont believe into any of them, they are far more badass and interesting than any sack of fur thats prolly just a bear on steroids
also its always interesting to research the origins of old myths, where they came from and what phenomenons or stories started them
for example, not too far from my birthplace the old people have a myth of wild soundspirits, who basically consist of nothing but wild sound moving around and terrorizing people, they are said to show up during thunderstorms and avalanche season and make sounds that should be of human origin but cant possibly be under the circumstances (the sound of music instruments, babies crying, milling weels spinning.. etc.)
you can clearly see how this myth just originated from the whacky sound transmission in the alpine valleys where those people lived
or the stories of the ''Wechselbälger'', children who were taken away at birth from their mothers by evil spirits or demons and exchanged with spawns of their own, they were said to have deformed bodies or couldnt speak
nowadays we would call them children with a birth defect
also I'd be a lot more scared to meet one of these fuckers than a bigfoot in the woods
