I hate this. I hate having beautiful sunrises and clouds but having my sight of it obstructed by suburbia. There no vantage points or anything. Wish we had a watchtower. Nearest one is 40 minutes away. Ugh. Fucking parks charge entry because negros litter.

No anons I just rent a room here this year because I need to be close to the university and clinic. I have never lived in a suburb in my entire life until this year, always either rural or city. Rural and city living both sustain me and keep me happy for different reasons, suburb living does none of that.

The good news at least is that I'm only about a 5min bike ride from a national park so i can go bike the trails whenever I want to which is nice. Even though the park basically surrounds the suburb everyone here is chinese or indian and don't leave the house so I hardly ever even see anybody else when I'm out onnatrail

Get out as soon as you can man, you have no idea how easy it is to say "I guess this isn't so bad" and before you know it you've been in the suburbs for decades. I fear this is happening to a friend of mine

Nah not gonna happen. I go visit my friends in the inner city every weekend and I remember how much I love it. I'm getting job offers for the end of the year atm so I'll have to move wherever the best job is, but so far it's looking rural or close enough to the city so should be good. And I never, ever, think "I guess this isn't so bad" here. It's purely for logistical convenience but it's shit for everything else.
