Good spots in Norway

I'm planning a 7 day camping and hiking trip to Norway in August.
What are some good spots to hike and camp?
No public camping spots please, only nature.
Note that we will mainly go around by car and that my friends are normies that can't hike for longer than 6 hours.

The whole country
We plan to drive to a different location each morning, make our hike or visit some city, and look for a good camping spot in the evening or late afternoon

If you're in Southern Norway this area will give you plenty of opportunities. Places like Åmot, Rauland, Rjukan, Vrådal, Hovden, Haukeligrend etc. are rural towns that are nice and tourist friendly. When travelling by car these roads will offer scenic views pretty much the whole journey. Maybe your friends are not keen on climbing all of Gaustatoppen, but it's not a hard climb at all, even kids can do it. But it's a nice place. Close to it you have the city of Rjukan which has a museum with cool WW2 history. Of course in Norway you don't have to worry about public camp spots as you can just wild camp, you can read about the camping laws and such online.

Thanks for the proposals, I will definitely check them out.
How are Norway's mountain roads?
I don't have a SUV, only a front wheel drive with 130 hp. Will I be fine?

pretty much.
but on some ''trails'' if you decide to go alittle off the road its nice with a little ground clearance.
but on the regular roads you'll be absolutly fine in summer time atleast.

Currently doing the same thing, except for 3 weeks and we go from Kristiansand to Trondheim to Oslo in a large circle. Did the Preikestolen hike 2 days ago, be sure to go early as there will be A LOT of people if you go too late.

We try to camp as much as we can in the wild but in crowded area's like Bergen where I'm currently staying it's hard/near impossible to find a decent camping spot near the road. Because we have normie quechua 2 second popup tents and no light camping gear at all we can't hike to a decent location. I would definitely recommend packing light, it's what I will do on a next trip.
Also, check out the park4night app, it's targeted mostly at RVs, but you can check out some cool free camping spots which people share. Pic related is where I slept last night

How are the temperatures in your area?
We plan to pack as lightly as possible, but most of the space is taken up by our tents and the sleeping bags. We got sleeping bags for around 0°C because they are the only ones we have, but if the temperatures are decent enough it might be wise to get smaller and lighter ones

We are fortunate to be in the middle of a heatwave, so the average temp during the day is 25°C. In the night the temp drops to ±10°C The least we had was 2 degrees when camping on 1300 meters. Also have camping gear rated a minimum of 0°C.

Currently just over the border in Sweden because I've never been there + cheaper alcohol. Although I spoke to a Swedish birdspotter in Runde who told me they al go to Germany for their alcohol anyway
