Why do people out in the middle of literally nowhere worry about hunting seasons?

I was watching life below zero last night and one person who literally lives by herself(350 miles from her nearest neighbor) and also right on the tip of alaska said she isnt going to hunt bears if it's out of season because of possible criminal charges and fines.

Do game wardens check on these people or something? How will they find out?

What state do you live in?

I know in Texas, the game wardens are pretty good at getting out and checking on people. I constantly see them out, and checking at the popular spots for fishing. They will also pull people over and check fish in coolers and other game if they see people with that stuff. They also go around on boats on the lakes and will inspect live wells and shit.

Shit dude, here they have ATVs and dirt bikes and ride around together like some biker gang. They ride all over people's private property, cut fences, leave gates open, and leave trash behind where ever they go. That's for hunting season. For the fishing locations they ride around in jet skiis and speed boats. They will send a huge wave at anyone and everyone either in a boat or on land just before they check all your equipment and paperwork. They ruin all chances of catching fish and will return every 10 minutes to check to make sure you aren't over your limit. They will spend 10-20 minutes scattering the entire contents of your tackle boxes all over the place checking for "illegal rigging". Oh and they will cut your line every time so you have to reel it in ASAP the instant you here them coming on the watercraft. They are top tier pieces of fucking shit and have a free pass to be the highest assholes possible. They don't give a shit about protecting wildlife. They are only there to fuck with people. They do home invasions constantly and quite a few times have been accused of rape, but no charges were ever brought up. They are always armed to the teeth and wearing vests. Even the local cops just shake their heads at what they do.

I've only ever had good experiences with fish and game wardens, like a lot of law enforcement they come off as a bit strict but are usually friendly enough, you can ask them about the best fishing spots and stuff

Yeah. Their trucks say "State Police" in addition to "Game Warden". The ones I've bumped into have been cool. But I mostly stick to fishing. Mostly a check my license, make sure my fish are legal size, chit chat about fishing holes, and me continuing to fish.

Friends of mine were fishing at a small lake hundreds of miles from civilisation in Canada, fucking small helicopter shows up and lands on the beach on the lake.
Park ranger gets out and asks to check their fishing/hunting permits, 'sall good, flies away.
