When you're entering into price range of $250-300+ per item, it really comes down to personal taste and fit. They're all made from the same high end gore-tex, they're all ultra lightweight, they're all about as durable as one another. Arc'teryx sets itself apart with a pretty solid warranty, but really anything high end from Outdoor Research, North Face (summit series,) Mammut, Patagonia, or anything else in that range is going to be just fine for outdoors.
Buy shit you have use for. Don't buy clothing made for mountaineering if you don't go mountaineering unless you don't mind overpaying on gear you don't need. Or just don't give a shit what people choose to wear anyways because going /out/ is about you and the outdoors not about what everyone else is doing and making fun of people who are making mistakes befitting of people who don't go /out/ much.
