I used to get irritated by people being outdoors too, anon. I realized two things, though. One: getting mad about it won't change anything, so why bother. Two: most of these people stick to the easiest, most accessible hikes near town. It's the same up here in Seattle-- there are three big hikes roughly 40 minutes from town that become a zoo every weekend. There are also about five hundred hikes roughly 1-3 hours from town, and the further out you go, the fewer people you see, and typically the places are much more impressive and beautiful. I'm not likely to ever see these people, and while their messaging and virtue signalling is annoying, if I did see them outside they'd probably just be enjoying themselves and enjoying nature-- just like me.
Try to not get so worked up about stuff like this.
