If you do die while out it will probably be because you forgot to tell anyone where you were going and then got hurt or lost. Otherwise freak accidents like lightning and flash floods are a lot more dangerous than the local wildlife or people.

If you do ever find yourself dying in the woods or the desert I guess you can think about how you'd much rather have a good coat or an extra gallon of water or a portable lightning rod or a defibrillator or whatever.
