Any New Zealanders here?

I'm in the south island and thinking about going to go live innawoods for afew months.. It's probably not the best time to do it (winter) so maybe I'll wait till summer.. or go further up the island to around Nelson, Pelerous River area..where although it frosts it's usually sunny around noon..


Or further south to Peel Forrest maybe.. but maybe not with the cold and snow..

>I plan on taking in freeze dried and dehydrated food and making my own jerky while there (I've worked as a boner at a meat works for the last 8 years) will take as much rice as I can carry with me..fishing line and knives etc undecided about taking a gun..maybe a 22. for hunting..

But I plan on like..building something akin to a log cabin or something very, very hidden and just chilling out a few months.. i'll cache whatever i build out there with a gps..
