/out/ I have been considering the idea of becoming a park ranger since I love life and the outdoors so much, and want to move from crummy Ohio suburbs to a nice secluded home in Montana. I know park rangers don't get paid very well, but my GF is studying to be a physical therapist. I want to raise my future kids to be savvy in the wilderness and camp/shoot/fish on my property and give them what I did not have. Is this feasible? Complete fantasy? Any rangers here have advice as to how I could become one, and if its worth it? Even if I become one, what are the odds there'd be an opening in Montana? I like to think I'd be happy working for the National Parks Service.
