>>1320699>In BC forest fires fuck every good trail and all the good prime crown landhard ehh here, most western north american ecosystems are at least somewhat fire-adapted and regular burning is important for regeneration, though sometimes very high intensity burns (usually a legacy of fuel buildup resulting from decades of full fire suppression) can cause permanent damage. though it certainly sucks having smoky skies, closed public lands, and burned trees in the immediate aftermath. (but the wildflower blooms after fires can be a hell of a sight, too.).
