Currently reading this. Highly recommended if you've trekked through the Nepalese Himalaya or are interested in the region.

It's the author's diary of his trek into Tibet in the late 1970s. Beautifully written and quite introspective. The way he describes the effects of high altitude are spot on.

Recently found a copy of 'A Sand County Almanac' at the dump (transfer station). It's been on my list of books to get for about five years, but I knew I would just happen upon a copy eventually, then this one found its way to me when I saved it from the garbage.
I shed real tears when I read the section about the woodcocks' dance; this book is too beautiful to read.

Huron Manistee. Michigan is great for dispersed camping, but honestly the UP is where it's at for getting /out/. I've been on the North County Trail in a few states in the Midwest and wanted to check out Huron Manistee area and was pleasantly surprised.
