Spent the weekend in osceola, terrain was fairly dry, saw a few gators and lots of hog tracks. Sleep system and hammock was fine, had a big shower halfway through the afternoon, was able to stay dry easily while every other person I was with had their tents get soaked and all their shit was waterlogged.
That said I got all of an hour of sleep because we set up camp about 400 yards from what turned out to be a popular spot for drug deals, an old firetower that had the bottom stairs taken out, like that would stop anyone from going up it.
Around midnight a couple in my party went up there to fuck in the tower because they are degenerates and while they were walking up a couple of cars came up to the tower and 3 crackheads came up to smoke crack and probably deal, they said they hooted at them and they hooted back, but when they tried to go down the tower halfway down they ran into each other. One of the crackheads had a knife and they had to ask permission to finish descending.
They came back to camp and told us what happened, and then I saw that a couple of the crackheads had followed them, or had seen our fire from the top of the tower and was about 100 yards from our camp, just watching us.
They saw me watching them and left and came back in their shitty trucks and circled our camp a few times doing donuts and were just being crackheads trying to gauge us.
We had a few guns between us, I had a rifle and a pistol pic related, and a buddy had a pistol so we posted up on the edge of camp closest to the tower, they only stopped fucking with us when the headlights came across us with guns in our hands.
Even after that, they were still in the firewatch tower and would yell and scream and drive their cars back and forth between our camp and the tower through the trees, never got as close once they saw our guns though.
We tried to call the police, but none of us had a signal.
