very. IDK what episodes are available but I love the first season because he truly has no idea what he's doing and just fucking wings it. Episodes can be boring when his experience is boring. There is very little 'TV drama' compared to most shows these days. 9/10.

Two very different styles. Grylls is probably not as knowledgeable but it's far more athletic and entertaining to watch. And has a more diversified toolset, the canuck guy always does the same and the only difference is the biome he is in.

One episode he siphons gas out of a car using a hose and his mouth. Gets gas in his mouth.
The best way to siphon is to push the hose as far down as possible, cover the end creating an airtight seal, and pull down below, break seal and watch it flow.

I watched the first episode of the very first season with my girlfriend last night and I couldn't tell if this was an actual survival show or a comedy program.

>goes to bumfuck northern canada
>rides a snowmobile for 10 hours straight even further north
>somehow ends up being only 30 miles away from the town and has 7 full days to make it back
>harvests a bunch of shit from his snowmobile and starts hiking
>complaining about the camera equipment the entire time
>tries to build an igloo
>fails
>tries to catch a seal with a spear
>fails
>tries to catch a bird by hand (wtf?)
>fails
>tries to light a campfire by shooting at tinder with a rifle
>somehow succeeds
>complains about only having 200 cals of seal meat per day to eat
>tries to stay warm by melting seal fat on a heating rock instead of eating it?
>finds some random inuit on the final day only to be told he was still two full days of travel away from the village

Legit has a lot of meanings. He's really fun to watch and has the /out/ attitude.

Other guys are more /k/ or /the/ but for TV he's fantastic. The episodes have a calmness you don't normally get anymore.
