They've polluted the home building industry and home improvement stores with their shitty 'fast-install and repair again later' products like plywood, OSB, MDF, asphalt shingles, PEX, and drywall to name a few. The biggest problem is that there have been enough generations that grew up with this shit now that they think it is what good housing is supposed to be like. They don't bat an eye when there's a water leak that guts their house of drywall or they need to replace the entire roof every 12-20 years.
Of course, these materials are so terrible that you absolutely must use AC and Heating year round in order to keep humidity at bay and prevent them from disintegrating. Which makes statements like this
