Just to clarify what seems completely goofy to me: lots of /k/ and some of /out/ wants a huge knife for chopping and batoning to take innawoods. I think that's nuts, it's not efficient use of carried weight, effort, or tools.
I carry a small axe, a pocketknife like my Trekker or one in pic related, and one of the knives in
>>>/k/16624101 when I go very far innawoods or for very long. I don't mind carrying the weight and want to have the right tool for the job at hand. The straight knives get used for feathersticking and cooking mostly. They spend most of their time on my hip just because I want them handy, but could just as easily live in a pack. The pocketknives get used far more often. When I hunt, I clean game with a trapper like the Camillus or Moore Maker in pic related.
