Secondly, Baluchistan is an active conflict zone and if you think it's indicative of the rest of Pakistan you might actually be retarded.
Thirdly, as this incident shows, pakistans policy of giving foreigners transiting Baluchistan large military escorts is counter-intuitive. Baluchistan rebels have no interest in targeting foreigners. They are not Islamists. They are ethno-nationalists and sepratists. They almost exclusively target pakistan military.
It's akin to the turkish military escorting a foreigner through a PKK area in eastern turkey. It's just stupid. By 'protecting' this person, you're making them a target.
