I mean yeah ideally you don’t want them in your fishery but as someone who lives near a lake that has seen a rapid increase in gobie populations it’s not really a big deal. In fact the gobies are resulting in larger predatory fish. Walleye and smallmouth have been the largest we’ve seen in a long time.

The only time they are an issue is when you’re pan fishing and they yoink your bait before what you are after can get to it.
