Hike Katahdin via Cathedral trail to Knifes edge down. It takes like 10h+ and the have daily quotas for parking so get there early or get dropped off (shitty option).
Western Maine near NH is where the best mountains are. Emerald Pond is cool short hike to swimming hole over border in Chatham NH.
Salmon falls on Saco river near Gorham has great ropeswings, good ones are hidden further down stream from bridge
Mahoosuc is one of the most brutal miles on the AT allegedly. Can drive close.
