If you want a multi purpose field gun just get a single shot break action 12 gauge and get a scabbard for your backpack slugs for big shit and 7 1/2 shot for small shit though 5 shot is nice for hare and ptarmigan

I went through a bunch of cheap and not so cheap holsters before I bit the bullet and bought this one. Don't waste your money on uncle mikes holsters or alaskan backpackers holsters. they were $50 each and were hot trash. Just drop the $150 on a quality holster.
