>in the UKoh wait no. you can get some sort of bivy. but IMO the ones that are fully water proof are expensive, heavy, not breathable, and too much like sleeping in a coffin. if you want to cowboy camp in the UK you'll have to be checking the weather constantly and will seriously limit when you can sleep /out/
Get a small flat tarp, practice setting it up in your garden. it's not hard. the half pyramid pitch is super easy, really quick and will protect you from the majority of our weather.
